MEET THE FILMMAKER: THE PERSON BEHIND ME, MYSELF & I

BEHIND THE CAMERA

I'm Carter Griffiths, founder of WalknTalk, photographer, filmmaker and creator of Me, Myself & I.

My passion is telling real stories, giving people a voice and capturing the experiences that make us human.

One Person. One Story. Their Words.

Behind every documentary is a vision. Behind that vision is a reason.

My name is Carter Griffiths, and I am the founder of WalknTalk and the creator of Me, Myself & I, an original documentary series dedicated to giving people the opportunity to share their personal stories.

For me, this project brings together two things that matter deeply: filmmaking and helping people feel heard.

MY JOURNEY INTO FILMMAKING

Photography and film have been important parts of my life for many years.

I studied Photography and Film at the University of South Wales, graduating in 2023 with a BA (Hons) degree.

Through my studies and creative work, I developed an appreciation for the power of visual storytelling.

A photograph can capture a moment. A film can give that moment context, emotion and meaning.

But what has always interested me most is the person behind the image.

Their experiences. Their perspective. Their story.

WHY I CREATED WALKnTALK

As the founder of WalknTalk, I wanted to help build a community where people could come together, have conversations and feel less alone.

WalknTalk is built around connection, understanding and creating opportunities for people to support one another.

Over time, that purpose has inspired new ideas about how we can reach people beyond our community activities.

One of those ideas became Me, Myself & I.

THE IDEA BEHIND ME, MYSELF & I

I wanted to create a documentary series that gives individuals the opportunity to speak openly about their lives, in their own words.

Not every experience is visible.

People can carry challenges, memories and emotions that others know very little about.

Through this series, I hope to explore those experiences in a way that is sensitive, respectful and authentic.

Each documentary will focus on one individual, allowing their story to shape the conversation.

There will be no predetermined episode titles or expectation for contributors to fit into particular categories.

Every title will be chosen after the interview to reflect that person's individual journey.

THROUGH THE NEURO LENS

Me, Myself & I is created by WalknTalk, with filming and production carried out through Through The Neuro Lens.

My ambition is to combine thoughtful documentary filmmaking with an approach that puts people first.

Cameras, sound and lighting all contribute to the finished film, but the most important element will always be the person sharing their experiences.

I want each contributor to feel listened to and respected throughout the process.

MORE THAN A DOCUMENTARY

My hope is that these films will encourage meaningful conversations.

That someone watching might recognise an experience they have struggled to explain.

That another person might gain a better understanding of challenges they have never personally encountered.

And that every contributor feels their experiences have been represented with care.

This project is not about telling people what their stories mean.

It is about giving them the opportunity to tell us.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

We are at the beginning of something that I hope will grow into a collection of powerful and deeply personal documentaries.

Through The Journal, I will continue sharing the creative journey, production developments and the work taking place behind the scenes.

Thank you for being part of the beginning.

BEHIND THE LENS: THE MAKING OF ME, MYSELF & I

Go behind the scenes of Me, Myself & I, an original documentary series created by WalknTalk and filmed by Through The Neuro Lens. Discover the vision, preparation and passion behind a project dedicated to sharing real people's experiences through powerful, honest and sensitive storytelling. One Person. One Story. Their Words.

A documentary series built around real people, real experiences and the power of being heard.

Every documentary begins with an idea.

For Me, Myself & I, that idea is simple: everyone has a story, and every story deserves the opportunity to be heard.

Created by WalknTalk, this original documentary series aims to explore the personal experiences, challenges and defining moments that shape people's lives.

But behind every conversation captured on camera is something equally important: trust.

MORE THAN A CAMERA

Documentary filmmaking is about much more than cameras, lighting and microphones.

It is about listening.

When somebody chooses to share their experiences of mental health, neurodiversity, trauma, wellbeing or life's challenges, they are sharing something deeply personal.

Their experiences deserve to be approached with dignity, sensitivity and respect.

That is why Me, Myself & I is being developed around individual, one-to-one interviews, giving each contributor space to speak about the experiences they choose to share.

There is no expectation to tell a particular kind of story, and no requirement to discuss anything they are uncomfortable sharing.

THE VISION BEHIND THE SERIES

As the founder of WalknTalk, I have seen how important it can be for people to feel heard.

Sometimes, a conversation can challenge assumptions. Sometimes, hearing somebody else's experience can help us understand our own.

Through this documentary series, I want to create something that goes beyond a traditional interview.

I want viewers to see the individual behind the experience.

Not simply a diagnosis, a struggle or a moment in someone's life, but the person as a whole.

Our ambition is to create documentaries that encourage understanding, challenge stigma and open conversations that might otherwise never happen.

THROUGH THE NEURO LENS

Filming and production for Me, Myself & I will be carried out through Through The Neuro Lens.

The aim is to bring a professional, cinematic approach to personal storytelling while ensuring the focus remains on the contributor and their words.

The visual approach will be intimate and understated.

Carefully considered lighting, thoughtful camera work and a quiet interview environment will help create a setting where each story can unfold naturally.

The equipment matters, but the person sitting in front of the camera matters far more.

ONE PERSON. ONE STORY. THEIR WORDS.

Every documentary will focus on one individual.

Rather than assigning predetermined topics or titles, each film will develop around that person's experiences.

The title of each documentary will be chosen after the interview, reflecting the contributor's individual journey.

No two stories will be the same, because no two people are the same.

THE JOURNEY AHEAD

We are currently developing the series, speaking with prospective contributors and preparing for filming.

As the project progresses, we will share updates through The Journal, including insights into the filmmaking process, preparations for interviews and behind-the-scenes photographs.

We look forward to sharing more about the journey as it unfolds.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE INVOLVED?

We welcome expressions of interest from adults aged 18 and over who would like to explore sharing their personal story.

Participation begins with an information pack and an optional pre-interview questionnaire, providing an opportunity to learn about the project before deciding whether to proceed.

ME, MYSELF & I: THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING IMPORTANT

Everyone has a story, and every story deserves to be heard. Discover Me, Myself & I, an original documentary series created by WalknTalk, exploring real experiences of mental health, neurodiversity and life's challenges. One Person. One Story. Their Words.

One Person. One Story. Their Words.

Me, Myself & I, an original WalknTalk documentary series. A black-and-white interview studio with an empty chair, overhead microphone and dramatic lighting. Every Story Deserves to Be Heard.

Everyone has a story.

Some stories are shared openly. Others remain hidden behind the smiles we see every day.

At WalknTalk, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to be heard, understood and respected.

That belief is at the heart of Me, Myself & I, our original documentary series exploring real people's experiences of mental health, neurodiversity, wellbeing and life's challenges.

More Than an Interview

Each documentary will focus on one person and their individual journey.

Through intimate, one-to-one filmed conversations, we hope to create a space where people can share their experiences in their own words.

There are no scripts and no expectations of what someone's story should look like. Each film will be shaped by the individual, their experiences and what they choose to share.

Why We're Creating This Series

Behind every mental health experience is a person whose life cannot be reduced to a diagnosis, label or statistic.

We want to explore those personal experiences with sensitivity, compassion and honesty.

Our aim is to encourage understanding, challenge stigma and remind people that they are not alone.

The Journey Begins

We have already started inviting individuals to express their interest in participating, and we are developing the series with care and consideration.

As production progresses, The Journal will share updates, behind-the-scenes photographs and news about upcoming documentaries.

Would You Like to Share Your Story?

If you're aged 18 or over and would like to learn more about participating, we would welcome hearing from you.

Contact info@walkntalk.org.uk to request our Documentary Contributor Information Pack.

Expressing an interest does not commit you to being filmed.
